GGSIU wins Stetson North to enter MPL; UILS bags 2nd ticket to Florida; NLIU regains top spot from Nalsar

University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashta University, Delhi made its debut in the MPL 2 by defeating UILS Chandigarh in the finals of the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition North India Rounds.

GGSIU is the 27th college to enter the MPL 2.

With a 20 points from Stetson North, GGSIU stands at joint 11th position and UILS, with 23 points, moved to 9th position in the standings.

As semi-finalist with 5 points NLIU Bhopal reclaimed the top spot in the standings after temporarily being ousted from the top spot by Nalsar Hyderabad following the NLIU Juris Corp Moot. The other semi-finalist RGNUL Patiala moved into 7th position, also scoring 5 points. Pratika Shankar of RGNUL won his college another 10 points with the best speaker award.

Amity Law School IP University Delhi bagged the award for best memorandum and moved to joint 17th position.

S Ravichandran, Advocate & Head, Academic Initiatives, Surana & Surana International Attorneys, confirmed the results and said that the event began with paying homage to the martyrs of 26/11 by the dignitaries and all the team members by lighting candles and observing silence.

Both GGSIU and UILS will now represent India in the Stetson International Finals to be held from 17 - 20 March 2011 at Maryland University School of Law, Maryland.
