Call for Papers: NUJS SACJ Criminal Law Review (Volume III): Submit by January 10th, 2017
About
SACJ Criminal Law Review (SCLR), a student-run, peer reviewed journal of School of Criminal and Administration of National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) invites articles, research papers, case comments, book reviews and commentaries for its second issue.
The journal seeks to encourage rigorous inter-disciplinary research on diverse aspects of criminal law and aims to investigate criminal law and policy from social sciences and humanities perspectives.
The journal hopes to simultaneously work at two different levels– the conceptual and the empirical– usually seen as mutually exclusive. The review will offer a thorough analyses on critical aspects of criminal law and will attempt to keep the readers abreast with contemporary developments in the field.

Deadline for the submission is 10th January, 2017.
Submission Guidelines

The journal accepts submissions on a rolling basis from external contributors. Submissions made after the deadline will be considered for the next issue.
Selected articles will be accepted for the online version of SCLR (We are also planning to get approval and to arrange resources for the print version as well, though it is only a possibility so far this issue is concerned)
All submissions must be accompanied with a covering letter indicating the name of the author, title of the submission and the email address of the author.
The submissions will be reviewed and edited by the Editorial Board under the supervision of the Editor in Chief.
Authors must be prepared for a detailed, many-layered and fast-moving editorial process. All submission to SCLR will undergo blind peer review.
Authors should be contacted within a month from the date of submission and intimated about the acceptance/rejection of the submission. In case of acceptance, authors will be given detailed feedback, and may be required to re-work on the submission according to the suggestions made by the editorial board.
Word Limit
The SACJ Criminal Law Review accepts submissions in the following categories:
Articles: Original work expressing either theoretical debates, or an empirical analysis would be considered for publication. The word limit per submission is 3000-5000 words.
Case Notes/Commentaries: Either critical or supportive comments on recent judicial pronouncements can be submitted under this category. Word limit per submission is 2000-4000.
Legislative Comments: Comments on any new or proposed legislation pertaining to criminal law may be submitted under this category. The Word limit for each submission would be 2000-3000 words.
Short Articles: Articles on focused topics on criminal law can be submitted under this category. The word limit for each essay is 2000-3000 words.
Book Review: Unlike other law reviews, this literature review will be open to books, treatise or other academic material bearing the theme of criminal law. The word limit per submission will be 1000-2000 words.
The journal is flexible on the word count depending on the quality of the submission. Referencing and citations must be in conformity with the Standard Indian Legal Citation (SILC). Submissions must necessarily contain an abstract of not more than 300 words.
Evaluation Process
The contribution shall be evaluated on the basis of originality, innovativeness, conceptual clarity and technical correctness. Authors shall solely be responsible for the accuracy of statements in the article.
Any unacknowledged reference in the contribution shall amount to plagiarism and would lead to outright rejection.
Copyright
Also, the contributions presented to and accepted for publication therein shall be the intellectual property of the School of Criminal Justice and Administration, NUJS.
Authors submitting their manuscripts warrant that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright, infringement of proprietary right, invasion of privacy, or libel and will indemnify, defend, and hold the Journal or sponsor(s) harmless from any damages, expenses, and costs against any breach of such warranty.
