Sir

I wanted to know.My grandfather purchased a land 50 years back say from mr x,that land was mr. x ancestral property.now we sold that land but the graandsons of mr x claimed that the property was their ancestral property & they have right in it.Just want to know the course of action & to what extent their right exists after such a long time. Also what safeguard to be taken if any one is buying some old property.

As per my knowledge period of limitation to raise such dispute is 12 year either if they want to challenge sale being without authority or they being denied right of succession. Chk Art. 109 and 110 of limitation act
