National Law University, Jodhpur is one of the premier institutions for legal education in India, having as its avowed objective, legal empowerment in all its variegated manifestations including gender empowerment.

The Centre for Gender Studies focuses on disseminating awareness, pioneering research and launching path breaking endeavors on the gender frontier.

This seminar hosted by Centre for Gender Studies, National Law University, Jodhpur calls for well researched papers and presentations on issues related to the following sub-themes:

1. Women Entrepreneurs – Challenges and Solutions with focus on SMEs

• Constraints faced by differently abled women

• Incentivisation of women entrepreneurs by government policy

• Women in the unorganized sector

2. Barriers in access to economic resources

• The Question of Women in Minority communities

• Archaic social and traditional barriers to access

• Capacity Building: The Paradox of Education and Employment

3. Property Law & Women

• Questions of Text, Terrain and Context in the Politics of Family Law and Gender

• Multiculturalism, Minority Women and Family Law

• Feminist Perspectives of Property

• A New Paradigm for Thinking about the Reform of Domestic Property Relations

4. Social Entrepreneurship & Matrimonial Property Rights in Rajasthan

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

1. For abstract of 250 words: 25 August, 2015

2. For approval of Abstracts: 5 September, 2015

3. For submission of Full Paper: 25 September, 2015

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Your abstract (of about 250 words) should be sent in the TEXT BOX of the e-mail (not as attachment). The following information, in the given format, should be sent along with the abstract:

(All abstracts will be peer-reviewed before they are accepted.

REGISTRATION

For paper presenters, registration will be done only after the approval of abstracts by sending a DD in favor of ‘Registrar, National Law University, Jodhpur’ payable at Jodhpur.

The Registration fee will be:

1. Rs. 2500 for Outstation Academicians/Professionals

2. Rs. 1500 for Local Academicians/ Professionals

3. Rs. 1000 for Outstation Students/Research Scholars

4. Rs. 800 for Local Students/Research Scholars

BOARDING & LODGING

Accommodation for Outstation Participants will be arranged in the University’s Convention Centre on a twin sharing basis. Outstation students will be accommodated in the University hostels.

All seminar participants will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
