7th - 13th August 2015: Invitation for Research Methodology Workshop on Legal and Interdisciplinary Research @GNLU

Greetings from Gujarat National Law University!

GNLU takes immense pleasure in apprising you that we are organising a Research Methodology Workshop on Legal and Interdisciplinary Research (7th August-13th August, 2015). This workshop intends to acquaint the participants with methodology of inquiry into law and interdisciplinary areas. It will also intend to make them familiar with nature, scope, and significance of legal research. In addition, it endeavors to make them aware of role of legal research in the development of law. With these objectives, the workshop deals with sources, categories and types of legal research. It focuses on legal research methods and tools. It will highlight various dimensions and tools of doctrinal legal research as well as non-doctrinal legal research. In other words, the workshop strives to instill in the law students basic skill of identifying research problems, planning and executing legal research projects and of appreciating the problems associated therewith. The workshop will build within them basic research skills so that they can plan and pursue legal and interdisciplinary research in future.

Duration and modules: The Workshop, consisting of daily 6 hours training will be imparted through lectures. The workshop consists of 7 modules, namely, An Introduction to Legal Research, Legal Research: Tools and Methodology, Hypothesis and Research Design, Fundamentals of Legal Research Writing and Creative Writing, Tools in Inter-Disciplinary Research, Future prospects in legal research Module, Role of Statistics in Legal Research.
