My grand father(A) bought a piece of agricultural land in 1967 from a person named B as per mentioned in the sale deed.

Grand father passed away in 2010 and my dad(C) inherited that piece of land.

Last month B came to C claiming that his signature was forged by someone and that the land should ideally belong to him.

As per the birth records of B (D.O.B1966) he would have been 1 year at the time of land registration and this is point he is trying to put his case forward that how he would have signed when he was just one year old and hence the sale deed must have been forged by someone.

When C asked B why he is complaining now after all these years, B said he came to know about this transaction only couple of weeks back.

Apparently the said piece of land was inherited to B from his grand father and it was sold to A in 1967 by the father of B.

Now C doesn’t have a clue on how the original transaction happened because he was a 3 year old kid at that moment and even father of B passed away in 2007.

Our only assumption at the moment is that it would have been forged by father of B when he sold it to my grand father A.

Can you please advise how this case should be taken forward. Will such a claim after close to 50 years be valid after all these years
