JGLS Hostel
Lately I have heard that hostel facilities at JGLS are far from good. Some say that AC’s in the room are switched off from 9am to 4 pm(mon-fri), constant room changing and types of rooms available such as 4 bedded, bunk bedded, non attached bathrooms etc. And weird policies such as vacating rooms every six months. I think it is a vital factor to know this as that will be the place where you will be staying for 5 years. And information about administration and their cold attitude towards students (adjust or leave college), whether it is true or not. It would be better if Jindalites answer this question or someone who really is 95%+ sure of the current situation there. If yu are from Jindal please be honest and if you are from anywhere else please dont brag about jindal and fees.
Thank you sooooooooo much in advance.

Some of this is true. Some of this is not. AC being turned off isn’t true anymore. Some problems in administration are, indeed, true.
I shall reply to you in detail after exams. Expect a reply in second week of June. Yes, I’m from Jindal.
PS: No one brags about the fees.

Apologies for the delay. Do ask if you have some more specific questions about Jindal, I’d be happy to help.
Read the “open letter” published on LI recently to know the problems. It sums up everything perfectly (perhaps taking a bit too far - debatable). Other than what’s written there, it’s a perfect place to be at.
And no, it’s not a place for rich kids to spend the whole semester smoking up and playing CS. Yes, some do that, but they face the consequences (academic as well as disciplinary) soon. If you plan to party, this is not the place to be.
And the rooms are four-bedded for girls, though they are adequately spaced. 3-bedded for boys from the upcoming year (was 2-bedded earlier). Take a campus tour.
PS: For anyone going by any claims made by “Prof Paddy”, ask for the claims to be made in writing. Much of it are just sweet words to attract students and far from truth. Random fact: He claimed during the last admission season that the classes are semi-circular and round (U-shaped) to ensure proper teacher-student interaction. Funnily, none of the first year 5-year law students had regular classes in those classrooms. Auditoriums and school-styled-classrooms for us. Be cautious before going on his words.
