Sales of Property using Power Of Attornry

sanjha 20 Oct 2014, 03:10

Hi

I need some legal advice of buying a plot of land . I will really appreciate if someone can advise me on this. There is a land in the name of Mr X who lives abroad. His father Mr Y has the Power of Attorney to sell the property. The owner Mr X has sold the property to a builder Mr Z who has not registered the property against his name (probably to avoid registration tax). The builder wants to sell the property which i want to buy. However as the property is still registered against the original owner Mr X the promoter said that the buying and selling will happened between Mr Y (who hold the power of attorney) and myself and i have to pay the promoter in demand which will be approved by Mr Y who holds the Power of Attorney. The whole thing looks very complicated to me. Should i walk away from the deal.

Regards

Sanjit
