Hi,

My dad has constructed a house in Mangalore 3 years back. He had plans to rent it out since it will be like as an income for him post his retirement.

During that time, my dad’s cousin brother was in need of house hence my dad gave it to him for staying. During the construction my dad had also loaned Rs.1 lac from him (cousin bro). There was paper work or agreement prepared. Also no rent was specified. It was given more on humanaterian grounds since he had a family but no house to stay. After 1 year my dad and uncle died in a road accident.

Now in that house my uncle’s wife along with her 2 children is staying.

Its nearly 3 years but even my mom has actually not asked for rent or any paper work. She has also not paid the Rs.1 lac loan yet.

But now the widow has made all her legal papers like ration card, election card and LPG gas card on the rented address.

My mom has doubt that no later than soon this widow will definetly give us problem or claim ownership on the house.

Pls advice what can we do.
