Greetings!
Krotova, The Literary and Debating Committee of National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack presents to you with pride -
Three days of astounding feats of imagination, wonderful stories and conversations, discussions, confrontations, depths of emotion, book signings and other Festival exclusives!
Understanding that appreciation and exposure to Literature gives one’s soul the spine to uphold its individuality, Krotova seeks to foster your inherent love for the vibrant body of Art and Literature and the possibilities it holds.
We bring to you, the First NLUO Literary Festival to be held from 7th to 9th August, 2014 on campus, at National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack.
This three day Festival aims to celebrate Literature in all its glory! The Festival seeks to underscore themes of comedy, music, dance, drama, visual arts including elements of film and music and shall also feature events like book readings by some of the country’s most eminent authors, book stalls, panel discussions and a book launching ceremony. It shall attempt to cover an extensive range of material like novels, short stories, drama, poetry, crime fiction, science fiction, literary biographies, popular science writing, travelogues, screen writing, children’s books, literary criticism, drama and so on!
To provide a glimpse of what’s in store for the three days, we present to you a few of the notable names honouring us with their presence -
Ms Arshia Sattar who is an Indian translator, facilitator, author, and director. A PhD at the University of Chicago, her acclaimed English translations of Valmiki’s Ramayana and the Katha-saritsagara are Penguin Classics;
Mr Pushpesh Pant who is one of India’s leading expert on International Relations as well as cuisine, and as a columnist has written for a number of major publications like Forbes, Open, Outlook, Times of India and The Tribune. His book India: The Cookbook (2011) was named by The New York Times as one of the best cookbooks of the year, making it an international bestseller;
Ms Athena Kashyap, who is a renowned novelist and has authored Crossing Black Waters (SFA Press, 2012), Sita of the Earth and Forests (SFA Press, 2014)
Ms. Vartika Nanda, one of India’s foremost writers on media and women centred issues and recipient of the Stree Shakti Puraskar, 2013. A trained journalist, Dr. Nanda has carved a niche for herself in the field of media studies, communication training and women empowerment.

We are pleased to open Delegate registrations for the Festival and extend our warmest welcome to all bibliophiles, enthusiasts and everybody else this reaches!
Here’s what you need to know:
1. ALL Literature enthusiasts are welcome!
2. The Delegate Fee is as follows:
General Delegate Pass: INR 300/- in total for all 3 days of the fest.
Student Discounts:
School Students: INR 200/- in total for all 3 days of the fest
University Students: INR 250/- in total for all 3 days of the fest
This includes the festival kit, free access to all events, exclusive book signing opportunities with our Speakers. We also add that there shall be a host of events during the Fest for which all delegates shall gain automatic entry.

We shall try to provide the attendants with paid accommodation, subject to availability, on a first come first serve basis. In this respect, details of the accommodation form shall be intimated shortly along with the schedule of events. There shall be food stalls on the venue for refreshments.
