Settlement deed of legal heirship laws

chandrupsekar 19 Sept 2013, 09:06

I am living in Dindigul. My father expired at the year 2003. We among our brothers and sisters (5 members including me) divided among us through village panchayat. However it was not registered.

I was given a share of property to be used along with my major sister married.

After 10 years we decided to register the property through settlement deed. So other 3 members (other than 2 of us) has to write and sell the settlement deed.

My doubt is in spite it was agreed through village panchayat as ‘Paga privirnai pathiram’ my elder brother now disagrees and won’t sign settlement deed.

I came to know if major of other legal heirs agree and one doesn’t agree, I still can proceed to do the settlement deed.

Can you confirm?
