Droping an year for CLAT

Well everyone out there,I’m Rahul Cherian.I just wanted to ask whether dropping an year fr CLAT is worth it or not?I’m actually gonna appear fr CLAT this year and i wanna make it either to NLSIU/NALSAR. But in case it so happens that i dont get a rank within 500-600 i may consider dropping an year.But i’m afraid whether the CLAT Committee would change the eligibility condition and pattern of the paper for CLAT-2011.

Hoping to get good replies on this.Pls do provide me with valuable suggestions.

Hey, its okay to drop a year.. Half my friends in the first year are droppers, and I dont think the Clat committee will change the age criteria the next year, they have nothing against droppers unless you have a 3-4 years age difference from the required one. one year will not make a difference although the time the next clat comes around the competition will surely increase..

Droping a year is OK. Dropping a couple is not advisable. Dropping three years has also been done (from GLC, Mumbai to NUJS).

The age won’t be changed. They have already brought it down to a point from where lessening it more just can’t happen.

The paper pattern might change; you never know.

Droppin a year is not bad because in a laww school its quite often to find to find droppers…bt da fact dat if u get through a NLU wid a rank of 500-600 in which u wil either get GNLU or RMLNLU…GNLU is gud enugh i being the sudent of the very same university…and u shud take it…cnt say much abt RMLNLU or kichi and all…

Give it your best shot the first time around. If you don’t get into NLS or NALSAR, I suggest that you seriously consider NUJS, NLU Jodhpur and NLIU too. These three colleges have a good track record. If you indeed want to drop a year - I suggest that you enroll into any law decent private law school and spend a year there, simultaneously preparing for CLAT 2011. This will atleast help you save a year in case you do not make it in 2011 too. Lastly, I doubt a rank of 500-600 will get you admission into NLS or NALSAR. You’ll probably need a rank below 150 for that.
