Is MBL a good choice?

Opportunity no. 1- Big law firm
no.2- Mid tier law firm
no. 3- niche law firm
no.4- small law firm
no. 5- a would be law firm
no. 6- some other law firm
companies take legal counsels, government organisations, media houses, academia, NGOs, LPOs, journalism/publishing people, and oh! yes! litigation. IAS too becomes a popular option.

In the end its up to you what you wanna do after LL.B !! There will be many options but from which college you have done law will play an important role as college provide placements these days.
1) Law firm (Associate)
2) MNC (Legal officer)
3) Govt agency
4) Judicial exams
5) Bank, Legal dept.
6) Litigation
7)LPO
So, its up to you where you wanna go. Litigation will the best option if you wanna learn basics but as money matters as well go for a law firm. After 2-3 years you can join any MNC as well.

Offlate, lawyers are seriously pursuing tax as a career option and specifically indirect taxes. BIG4 Firms like E&Y, KPMG, Deloitte and PwC are hiring lawyers for their tax divisions and offering excellent packages. Starting salary for a lawyer in a BIG4 typically ranges from 6-8 lacs. In addition, these firms also offer great growth opportunities and a great career.

MBL has no value. No recruiter pays any importance to MBL (even from NLS).It is not a PG degree, only a diploma by correspondence. Its like getting a law degree from Annamalai or IGNOU

i would like to join faculty of law delhi or ils pune for llm is it good ti do llm in one of these colleges? will it bloster my career options?

hey, Nimish.. i’d like to know how to get into such companies. I,during my LL.B., didn’t had any tax related subjects nor I am aware of any such things in personal life. I graduated last year and am very much interested in companies like deloitte.

Can MNC Law Officer appear in courts for his private clients or he becomes an employee and looses his advocacy right ?

Dear Ginger Meggs,
I practice in the field of Indirect Taxation. During my 5 Year Law Course i did not come across the subject and had a fear of the same as I had been told that it is a fairly technical subject.
After a substantial amount of experience i can say that it is technical but at the same time extremely interesting and easy to grasp as it is very logical. My advice to anyone who wishes to pursue a career in tax laws is to spend substantial amount of time interning under a tax lawyer so that their basics are squeaky clean. this will also help them appear resourceful while applying to a big firm like Deloitte.
