URGENT rply required related to Possesion of my house
I live with my husband in the top floor of our house and the ground floor belongs to my husband’s elder brother .The problem is we do not have the house papers with us , and now after living almost above 14 yrs here we are being forced by my husband’s elder brother to leave the house ,or otherwise we would left with no power supply at our residence and he’ll send a notice as soon as he can.My husband’s father is in complete favour with us and he even wants to help us ,,but nobody knows what exactly should be done.Is there any scope/chance of getting the house by collecting evidences from our family members,grandparents,,would that help or anything that can be done plss suggest..Do we simply have to leave the house??Please i need your sincere help .., please reply asap… looking forward for needful suggestions..thnxxx!!

Immediately apply for an Encumbrance Certificate for the land on which your house is located. This will help you identify the owner. Also, approach the corporation and find out in whose name is the “Khata” of the property in? Who has been paying property tax. Once you get details from these documents, apply for the certified copies of the title documents from the sub-registrar’s office.
Sory i did not mention above that the house is made by father-in-law, but due to overage loan was a problem and so the plot was taken on elder brother’s name.Also would like to add…the electricity bill,telephone bill are on our name.. As i told u erlier that father-in-law is in complete favour with us,he presently lives with us.He has already declared the plot in our name when we put our first steps here and we also have it in shapat patra,, but we dont have the house papers in our hand thats d biggest problm,,,we nevr kw the old sweet brother is going to change so much now,,… would be looking forward for a sincere reply..thnxx
