Can I keep my Identity Anonymous?

AnonymousLLB 12 Oct 2012, 15:51

I wanted to know whether I can file a complaint for harassment and domestic violence against my former live-in-partner who is blackmailing me. He keeps threatening that he will tell my parents about the live-in-relationship we had for a year, which ended exactly 12 months ago, but the relationship ended 6 months ago. I moved out of the rented house and live on my own now. Also i did not live for free with him, and I paid the monthly rent every time, sometimes for his share as well. He lied to me about his identity and that is a case for impersonation and misrepresentation of facts, which I can use? He used his lies and lied from the very first day we communicated and used that lie to abuse me in all possible manners.

I was wondering if i could file a complaint against him for the physical/verbal/financial abuse i had to face, without having my parents informed about the case. So far i have tried to keep it hidden and am trying to keep his threats in control by not reacting. However, if he complains to my parents, i fear that i will be abandoned. My question is that since i am an adult (25 years old), can i file the complaint without getting the police to involve my parents into the matter? Is it possible to not let my parents be aware of the impending law suit?

Secondly, has the limitation period for filing a criminal suit lapsed if his blackmailing is still continuing on telephonic conversations?

****Please help.****
