No. A LL.M. Degree from an Indian University will not make your position any better. Corporate law firms and corporate houses seldom recruit people from Indian LL.M. courses. LL.M. grads from even the best national law schools dont fare well in the job market. As most recruitments are done ftrom amongst the LL.B. grads.

I would suggest, try doing a LL.M. from a reputed foreign university, gain experience by working for some time with a foreign law firm and then come back to India to join a law firm practicing corporate laws.

I would beg to differ to a part of the advise.

Even foreign LLM grads today do not have a great run with most top law firms, if their pre-LLM experience is not great.

My advise - try to do a corporate law course like CS. That would not only be a great professional degree but give you a more relevant learning on a variety of corp laws that are not a part of BA-LLB curriculum. I am not recommending CA/ CWA etc because they are more numbers focused and tough to clear.

I don’t want to pursue LL.M. degree from any foreign university & also it’s tough for me to pursue a CS as I’m not from commerce background. I still want to join corporate sector & I think both of your options are not going to work for me. What should I do now? Do I change my target & try some other options available for a law graduate? Or still there are few ways available which can help me in joining corporate?

If you think that non-commerce background is a hurdle to passing CS exams, then how do you think you will manage when you will get a complex litigation invloving calculations in pages OR if you are in-house counsel, then what answer will you give when the CEO asks for understanding of dividends and its impact from a corporate law perspective.

Keep hope, work hard on your CS - this is the only advise I can give.
