Can advocate register a trademark without being a trademark agent?

Hi,

Is it necessary for an advocate to register as a trademark agent first before being able to file a trademark application and carry on the proceedings? I am already enrolled with the State Bar Council. Its my first independent case, so please help me out..

An Advocate can process all the document to th concern department, there you do not beed to be a Trademark Agent. The concern Department will generate a Attorney Code for future correspondence.

under section 145 of Trademarks Act, a legal practitioner can be termed as an agent, therefore, a lawyer by default is a trademark agent!
