Suggestion PLEASE.....!

Hello everybody,

I am a fresh law graduate and has recently enrolled as an Advocate under a State Bar Council. I want to work with a corporate law firm based in Delhi from November 2012 (because till October I am busy for some personal reasons). But, I could not obtain any internship experience till date since the last 5 years due to personal unawareness of the importance of internships and lack of adequate exposure of the University I studied. Now, I am very tensed about my future. Could anyone lend me some practical solutions to my queries stated below :-

1/ Should I apply to corporate law firms directly for an Associate position? Or better to apply for a few internships in those firms?

2/ If internship is preferable to start with, does law firms allow graduates to intern?

3/ If not, is it possible for a graduate with mediocre academic credentials to get a law firm job without prior internship experience?

4/ Being a graduate I am planning to enroll in the Company Secretary(Executive Programme) by this month itself so as to get a better edge upon Corporate law and governance in the future. Would this move help me in the days ahead?

I would be very very grateful for your painstaking efforts and kindness to lend me some practical solutions.

Yours sincerely,

juniorattorney,
