As per you the check bounced on the 16/6/2012 and the bank did not inform you then my friend you have time to send a notice till the 16/7/2012. As you have 30 days from 16 to send a notice. you can check section 138(b) for the nos of days.If you need a draft of the legal notice to be send you can go to www.easylaw.com (it is a paid site).

Hope it helped and you can deposit the cheque again too within 3 months from the date of issue of cheque.
