Lost one of the original sale deeds - Help needed to resolve the issue

AnonymousLLB 25 May 2012, 10:24

Dear Sir,

Recently we bought a empty plot coming under BBMP.

After we got the sale deed registered, while getting the original documents from the seller, we found that he has lost one of the original sale deeds.

The original sale deed for his purchase is present.

The original sale deed of the purchase done by his seller is lost.

Before we decided to buy this property, he had shown all the originals to our advocate.

Within a span of 8 days, he has lost one of these sale deeds.

Now, I want to know, will there be any problem for us because of this?

Is there any chance that, the lost sale deed could have been misused by somebody? If yes, in what way?

How to make sure that, we will not land in any problem in the future?

Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

Warm Regards,

Narendra

Approach the Registry Office where the property was registered and you can get a certified Copy of the Sale Deed on payment of a certain amount.
