My Grandmother's propertly - Grandchildren's legal right and share?

AnonymousLLB 31 Mar 2012, 10:47

Hello,

Need Advice on the below please.

My Grandmother (she is no more) has a residential property (at least 50 yrs old) in Bangalore. We are a Hindu family. My Grandfather is no more as well.

> She has 4 children and each of them is married and has children (10 of them in total).

> Most of the 10 children (except 2) are married and have children as well.

> My Grandma’s children are discussing about selling the property

1) What is the legal share for each of my grandma’s children?

2) As grandchildren, do we have any legal right of share? If yes, then according to Indian Law, what is the legal share?

3) There is no will written however the property is in my grandma’s name.

Thanks,

KSBR
