The Special Marriage Act is for marriage of people between two religions or where the two sides expressly want to do so. A marriage under the Special Marriage Act is not an Islamic one. For an Islamic marriage you have to convert to Islam and perform all the necessary rites and rituals. Or the boy can convert to Hinduism and you can marry under the Hindu Marriage Act which is a legislation of the Parliament. However, you must remember this very well that a Muslim woman has very little rights in marriage and married life which even includes her possessions, rights against divorce etc. You must be very careful before taking this extreme step, as a Muslim woman in almost all cases gets very little inheritance compared to men and are almost always ignored, notwithstanding other social and religious sanctions placed upon the Muslim woman. Hence, its best if the boy converts to Hinduism and both of you marry under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 as its a far more liberal legislation which gives adequate protection to women and also plausible grounds of divorce for both the man and the woman.
