Well I first suggest that you concentrate on getting a rank to make you eligible for admission into either of these institutions.

Second, food isn’t exactly a factor one bases his college preference on. Remember that India is a diverse nation and that enables a variety of food to be available at any place. So neither at NALSAR nor at NLS, would you just be subjected to South Indian food(On a subsidiary note, try to appreciate it a bit. It’s actually quite appealing once you lose the paradigm).

Coming to the main issue, it entirely depends on what you want. If you like to debate, moot (which is basically a legal debate) or organize events, I recommend NLS. Also, as you are seemingly so focused on a Law Firm job so early in life without knowing what the work entails, I again heartily recommend NLS for it gets the better jobs and will assist you to juggernaut through the corporate ranks.

Don’t find my tone to be disgracing. It’s just appalling to find people trying to decide preferences even before attempting the CLAT. And more so because of the mindset people join Law School with.

Before you choose either of them, they should choose you first. The only college which you can join no matter what your CLAT rank is, is JINDAL

He is deciding it before the CLAT exam because he is required to do so. After CLAT exam, he would not have an option to give his preference.

He has just asked a simple question which is viable.

@Anonymous - Anyway, prefer NLSIU over NALSAR.

First of all you will ‘take’ CLAT and not ‘Give’ CLAT. Secondly, deciding the College solely on the basis of the food you like or dislike is not the best way to about this. Thirdly, you don’t get to choose between NALSAR & NLSIU. You will have to earn this.

Preference should be something like this.

NLSIU

NALSAR

NUJS

NLU-J

NLIU.

Actually, I would change the order a little:

1. NLSIU, Bangalore

2. NUJS, Kolkata

3. NALSAR, Hyderabad

4. NLU, Jodhpur

5. NLU, Delhi (though it’s not part of CLAT)

6. NLIU, Bhopal

NLS on top, no need to justify. NUJS placed higher than NALSAR because of faculty, student culture, environment, etc. Although I don’t know what changes would take place during the new VC’s term. NALSAR should be third choice, though not because of the recent reports etc. NLU, Johdpur because of the student culture, academics etc. NLU-Delhi is fifth choice because of the way it has come up in the last four years, student culture, mooting culture etc.
