Dear Sir/Madam,

Please have a little patience and have look into my issue as this is a very different one.

I got a job in pune in the month of december.I am supposed to join on 12th of december which later was postponed to 14th by the company.I reached pune on 9th of december and started searching for a house with the help of an agent there.After visiting a few I was impressed by a house in the evening.The next day i.e on 10th december me and that agent went to the landlord to settle this.The landlord agreed for a monthly rent of Rs.8500 and a deposit of Rs.25000.As ten days already passed in that month he asked me to pay the rent for remaining 20 days in advance.I gave him a cheque of Rs.25000 for the deposit amount and told him i’ll transfer the 20 days rent to his bank account.Later, i was given the keys by the agent.

A day later my luggage arrived from hyderabad.I was told by the agent to seek the permission of the landlord for installing the AC.As his mobile was not reachable at that moment i’ve sent him a text message asking his permission for the required to be done.Later in the evening he replied me with an YES for the installation and told me not put any nails on the walls.By the time i got his message they laid few nails in the balcony to tie a rope for drying clothes.Professionals came from LG and installed the AC in the other bedroom(not master) as the beam is all over the place for which core drilling(pretty expensive) is needed.THis installation has been done with a clear intimation to the landlord and his acceptance.

After a couple of days i’ve learned from my company that my position was on hold for few days and my joining with them was uncertain.The next day I came to know i’ve lost the job.All my plans were shattered by that news.After this I don’t have any reason to stay there in pune and I decided to go back.I’ve called that agent and explained him what all happened.As he was very good he understood the situation well and didn’t charged me a penny for his brokerage and then advised me to talk with the landlord about this.I’ve called the landlord and explained him everything and asked about his thoughts.I thought he would understand my situation and on humanitarian grounds I thought he will not charge me any for those four days.But,he turned up asking for a month’s rent and I convinced him to take the rent for the 20 days as agreed.Later he considered my request and said ok for that.

Later,I came back and transferred that amount to his bank account after four days.As I got problem with my internet banking this was little delayed.By this i thought the issue was over as I paid him what actually agreed for.

Now,after almost a month I got a text message from him saying that i’ve destroyed his flat and destructed the wall by installing an AC.He is also blaming for getting a tap fitted in the bathroom which I made it on my own expense for the washing machine.He’s claiming the wall got cracked because of the drilling which is actually not.The cracks were already there on the wall which I noticed them during my first visit(i don’t have a proof for this).I’ve given him enough explanation for this but he is not in a position to listen to that.

He is now demanding me to pay Rs.11241 for fixing that hole and taking that nails back.I don’t understand why he is behaving like this and why I need to pay this.I also don’t understand how am i responsible for this when the installation was done with a prior notice and acceptance.The drilling was also not that heavy and if the walls really crack for drilling a 5cm in diameter hole you can understand how reliable and strong the construction is.He is balckmailing and threatening me that if I don’t pay him by this friday,he will file a police case against.I am not sacred of this.I still don’t understand on what grounds he will book a case against me.I didn’t even signed any rental agreement with him.

I’ve already spent more than Rs.40000 so far for moving my luggage here and there and for paying the rent and travel expenses.Now I am jobless and penniless and is suffering with hell lot of tensions.I am not in a position to afford any compensations.I nearly missed an accident recently as I was thinking how to solve this issue while driving.

Please suggest me how to proceed further and solve this issue peacefully.Any help in this regard will be much appreciated.
