if u think about placements- gnlu

if u think about infrastructure- gnlu

if u think about the future- gnlu

if u think about faculty- gnlu

if u think about quality of students- gnlu

if u think about beer and mutton- any other college other than gnlu.

its as simple as that.

Prefer these colleges only after NLS, NUJS, NALSAR, NLUJ, NLIU

Among these colleges, GNLU is the best choice. It has better placements than HNLU.

HNLU is a good colleges but GNLU has performed better than HNLU. Placements are not so good at HNLU. Students are good but still it affects when you have state quota. Same goes with GNLU i.e. 81 seats are reserved out of 160 in GNLU and 70 out of 140 in HNLU. SO it wont make much different between HNLU and GNLU.

But yeah, GNLU’s performance is very good is some last years. You can prefer it over HNLU.

Going to any place with state reservation is a bad idea as the quality of students drops drastically.

(Even NALSAR was admitting students upto almost Rank 9000 under Domicile ST- so think about others).

But GNLU will turn to be better as it is in Gujarat a much more business oriented state than Chhattisgarh.

GNLU is also closer to the commercial centre of Mumbai, Raipur’s closest is Kolkata which is pretty far and not too big when compared to Mumbai.

Well, HNLU and GNLU have been those two colleges who have compared themselves with each other and forgot about other colleges and thus stayed in the same league.

HNLU has got 50 students in the final year which passed out this year of which 35 sat for placements and 32 got through tier 1 law firms and other companies inter alia. Two students went for LLM, one to Harvard and one to Oxford.

MPL is a fathoming stick for college performance, especially students performance. HNLU stands ahead of GNLU at rank 7. “Res Ipsa Loquitor”

Infrastructure? HNLU has good infra though I would say that the new GNLU campus will be better than it.

GNLU has 160 students. 60 got placed according to LI stats. 14 or 15 into AMSS. Now they have a tie up with AMSS so again it calls for your mental faculty to function and figure out. :P

Reservation is the same problem everywhere so it is better not contended out here.

Now comes the question of preferring one over the other.

HNLU shall be preferred for reasons such as faculty, students and placement.

Life is not bad as people might think because of Raipur but it is not. You can enjoy anywhere you are.

People tend to take the call of GNLU before HNLU because they think its better to be in state like gujarat than in chattisgarh but a close analysis on placement will reveal HNLU has been performing much better than GNLU in these aspects. Every law student wants to go to mooting some time in his life in this aspect also HNLU in MPL(MOOTING PREMIER LEAGUE) is much ahead of GNLU. So guys apply your brain and dont go on hear-say.

AnonymousLLB 31 May 2011, 10:16

May be, but currently GNLU is making quite a good progress, and if you can check out the recent placements of GNLU, you would rather like to change your opinion. Gujarat is much more prospective than most other states. And why are you taking just Mooting in to comparison there are host other ways of comparing NLUs arrive at a generalized conclusion than a biased one.

What about ILS pune???

AnonymousLLB 31 May 2011, 15:31

ILS way better than these clgs..

AnonymousLLB 1 Jun 2011, 13:39

ILS is anyday better when compared to HNLU, SLS. GNLU is coming up good.

I would prefer ILS over other nationals like NUALS, Patiala and even Lucknow.

Among the abovementioned law schools, the order of preference should be as follows: ILS> HNLU >GNLU
