Can a Compact Disc recording be produced in Court and used as a piece of evidence ?

A compact disc or in short CD, can be produced before a Court as evidence.
This is clearly stated in Section 3, Interpretation Clause, “Evidence”.
“The definition of evidence covers (a) the evidence of witness, and (b) documentary evidence.
… evidence can be both oral and documentary and electronic records can be produced as evidence.”
[Pg. 9, Ratanlal & Dhirajlal’s Law of Evidence, 21st Edition, Reprint 2008]
CD being a electronic record, there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind regarding production of any form of electronic record as evidence in a Court.

To add to this, refer to s. 65B of the Indian Evidence Act which provides what electronic record is and that an electronic record is direct evidence of what it has to show.
