CNLU or AMITY LAW School
Hello, this is 19 years old guy here.I am a first year student of B.A.llb(hons) AMity LAW School,Noida.
I hear that my college has not got good reputation or merit in the course ,i wanted to know your opinion of what you think of Amity Law School,Noida.
Also , i was thinking of leaving my college after the first semester and joining Chanakya National Law University,Patna which is in my hometown , last year i was getting admission in CNLU but chose Amity over it,but now i have very different opinion but i am too confused to take any descision.I am aslo taking CLAT and IP university exam this year.
PS: please dont confuse between Amity Law school,Noida and Amity LAw School,Delhi. The Delhi one is affiliated to IP university and the Noida one is the private and the IP university affiliate is ranked 8th all over India and last year while i was taking admission i misunderstood the rank for the other one.
Please reply me ASAP
Thank you

You have to waste 1 academic year if u leave ALS…do it for some more worthy law schools…CNLU or RGNUL are good but not worth ur wasting a year…yes if it is top 7 NLUs or Symbi/NLUD…go for them leaving ur present law school..
Hi Ashansh,
Both colleges are new and haven’t built their reputation yet. The faculty too is probably comparable.
However, the exposure you will get staying in Delhi can probably offset the brand of your college to an extent - the extent depending upon your capabilities. Also, as others have pointed out you will not have to repeat a year.
If you get your goal clear from 1st or 2nd year onwards and work towards it in a focused manner - for instance by working with a senior lawyer who can mentor you for the next 3 - 4 years, this option may work out to be much better.
Hope that helps.
Good luck.
Read it and decide for yourself. Hope u will no longer be in a dilema. http://www.legallyindia.com/201104182037/Law-schools/cnlu-patna-students-hunger-strike-protest-few-job-prospects
It would be really stupid to go to CNLU at the current time and moment. The above link shows that. Also, i suggest that you write CLAT this year and decide thereon.
@ Adoksh…U seem to have a very good idea about CNLU… i thnk u belong to christ and should be bothered about ur university and stop misguiding young aspirants…itzz alwayz a brave decision to take CLAT but dude u must have some idea before u even comment on an university… christ doesnt even have half the laurels which cnlu has got… CNLU has been semifinalists of jessup this year… christ is still dreaming of doing something like that… CNLU has got the best memorandum in Gandhinagar INternational moot court competition…semifnalists of nlu j anitrust… winner of rmlnlu parliamentary debate in 2010-2011… so stop fooling arnd… as far as placements are concerned that is a problem faced by other nlu’s too…CNLU isnt bad and doesnt have a dearth of talent… cnlu is relatively new in the block, has itzz own share of problems, mayb in riddles at this point of tym… nls was never built in a day… it also started in a room of bangalore university with 25 odd students…now itzz NLS…so chill…

@ Rohan Poddar: There is no need to get personal on this. My only feedback was towards the question raised ala; Amity or CNLU. My answer was very simple. AT THIS TIME AND MOMENT Choosing CNLU would be stupid. and I stand by my answer. I have no doubt CNLU is an excellent institute which is building its repute and thank you for advertising their Mooting and Debating culture. Again, I do not understand why u would have to think that i am fooling around, because I am merely answering his question. I would have to choose one of the 2 to settle his query and I cannot help so, if u happen to be on the other choice. Yes, CNLU is having placement issues, so I suggested the Topic Poster to stick with his college, or write CLAT once again to decide. I believe its a logical and reasonable answer.
Don’t take it as me having anything against CNLU. CNLU is a National law School for a reason and therefore no doubt it is quality. I was merely answering his question with a choice which differs from your opinion ;)
go for CNLU or try for migration to Amity Delhi.

Contd..
Well actually this question was the posted by me some four years ago…has been a long long time. My friends in amity have passed out and I have entered my final year, to be honest although I made a correct decision I left amity after an year of study , but I think if i had enough will power the I should have left after only 3-4 months , saving a semester worth of academic and hostel fees.
Amity was like an expensive resort for an year for me, none of the national Law schools could match its infrastructure and the campus, but it scored least where it mattered the most, Education! It was certainly not a center of Excellence. The seniors there used to say that I Would be a fool to let go of the opportunity to study at a national Law school, and with the passage of time and my own experience.
Even though after an year at amity I did qualify IP university exams in 2011 and Would get into any of institution I wanted under IP University, I opted to forgo the opportunity and choose CNLU instead.
4 years down the line , I am more than Happy with my choice.
To be honest enough, I am studying currently in amity .. and a fresher! It’s good far till now..! i dont understand why people seem to make an issue out of this!
The environment is good, teachers r nice and finally enough, rules and regulations are strict bcz of really mandatory attendance
