What is difference in pay scales of a lawyer wth LLM Degree & solicitor in India? Is it really high?
What is that a solicitor can legally do which a normal lawyer with llb degree cannot?
If becoming a solicitor can be pursued only in Mumbai, then is a solicitor recognized anywhere in India except Mumbai?

I’ve heard a solicitor recently complain that there is no increase in pay for being a solicitor but maybe they were just cribbing.
I don’t know either however if your pay increase if you are a solicitor too - I’d be surprised if it was the case actually but maybe someone else has better experience?
Being a solicitor has no legal implications whatsoever - i.e., a normal lawyer can do everything a solicitor can do and vice versa. However, there is some respect attached to being a solicitor and in some firms it may help a bit in your career…
There is also some prestige attached to it, as you no doubt know, since it is so difficult to pass.
Kolkata also has solicitors although they don’t make new ones anymore for a while now. Not sure what recognition elsewhere would be?
