You should concentrate on your speed, as it is a 150 mark paper in 90 minutes. Also, solve the questions on the basis of their simplicity and not the order, maintain your pace and concentrate since the beginning itself. Best of luck.- 1st year NLUD student

There’s hardly any difference in NLUD and CLAT.

NLUD asks you legal reasoning questions and not legal knowledge questions. This is the pattern for CLAT this year. So once you prepare for CLAT, you’re automatically prepared for NLUD.

As far as the GK is concerned, NLUD could ask you static GK questions as opposed to the purely current affairs questions in CLAT this year.

Math is easy. English is easy. Same for both.

Logical Reasoning questions are also similar.

Do not be worried and prepare well.

For 200 marks you get 2 hours in CLAT and for 150 marks you get 1.5 hours, so that is proportionate. No need to worry about that.

@sid: the logical/analytical reasoning isn’t similar to clat, is it?

for eg. reasoning Q in clat are like “statements and assumptions”, “statement & reason” etc etc.. but in nlud, it is sth totally diff.(i.e. not on a similar pattern)! it is much more lengthy and weird..isn’t it??

Quite frankly I didn’t feel any difference between the two papers. Maybe it was because I prepared for logical reasoning in its entirety so anything that came in the paper, I felt like I had done it before. Reasoning questions are generally easy, nothing too tough about them. But in case there is a tough one and if it takes too long to solve it, just skip it and move on. You don’t want to waste too much time on just one question and then maybe ultimately not end up solving it. So it’s much better to maybe finish off two more questions in the same time that you would have spent solving one question. The important thing to remember is that no matter what, the value of each question is the same.

there is no seperate preparation as such required for distinguishing Law School exams(LSAT being the exclusion). NLU-D is tougher to crack on only 2 grounds when compared to the likes of CLAT.

Prepare for the analytical section.

My friends and I found the paper rather long last year.

It took me an hour and a half to finish the paper.

While it took me an hour to finish CLAT.

Ofcourse,

I didn’t do that well in CLAT.:D

Most importantly-chill it out, sleep well.

You should be mentally AND physically prepared for the exam.

e.g. If you are sleepy- you might lose out on a few marks.

DONT treat them as seperate entrance exams ok?

Treat both as the SAME.

Have teh same preparation strategy for BOTH.

I guess NLUD is one of the first entrance tests you’ll be writing so its better to do the LST online mocks. ALL OF THEM.

Manorama Year book GK section + The Hindu = Current affairs.

DO the logical and legal section in ALL the Past year NLS, NLUD and CLAT papers.

I can BET anything 98% would be repetitions.

Universal is always Handy.

Trust me, you dont need more.

Look up Who’s who etc from LST module.

Expect some catch questions;

Like who among the following has been both a Chief election commissioner and the Sports minister.

That came for our exam.

Just chill. If you start now you have more than ample time left.

No separate exclusive strategy is required for NLU Delhi. It should be prepared alongwith CLAT as no new area other than those in CLAT is tested.

You should solve & analyse past 3 years actual papers of NLUD and practise at least 10-20 questions on the pattern of each reasoning/english/quant question you do wrong. For GK/Legal, you can trust aforementioned books, same as CLAT.

A good set of postal study materials and/or an April crash course at a good law institute ‘ll certainly help.
