Frankly, I have never been a fan of any National law university placing themselves outside the regime of CLAT!

there’s no reason to wry or to have ne kind of suspicions… NLUO has taken such a decision so that it doesn’t clash wid the dates of ne other entrance tests ( be it medical , engineering or law or ne othr).
@adoksh- CLAT shud not b a criterion in deciding the quality of any Law School.. instaed it shows that this particular university is ready to incur a cost of more than 1 crore just by not acceding to CLAT and instead conduct itz own entrance…
remember the said university is entirely autonomous and just 2 yrs old and still they take this bold step…

I would definitely agree to the statement that, CLAT does not determine a standard for its universities. Several of the Private Law Schools and law Schools beyond CLAT definetely occupy a better stance than several low rung CLAT Law Schools.
But what I was saying was, that NLU-Orissa in my opinion is too New to inculcate a seperate examinations under the National law School tag. But then again , definitely by doing so they have taken a bold step.

@adoksh well let me tell you for the last 2 years the level of question paper that have been set by NLUO is any day better than CLAT and i say dat as sum1 whu gave d test. i found the level of question paper very high. so dont u think dats a big enuf achievement that even though being one of the youngest national law school around they have taken the level of law entrance to another level and m sure many people whu gave the test would agree with me! And isnt too late the date has been decided wid a certain objective in mind so dat the session starts in a time so that student’s get internship break at the time when no other law school’s are having internship break..!

MISREAD---
I have no concerns with regard to the quality of the paper NLU-Orissa sets or the Quality of Education they impart. My only concern is with regard to the separate brand identification they have pursued by staying out of CLAT. Then again, like above derived, it is emerging as a Quality Law School.
