You should not worry about the fact that people are not doing post graduation in law, they are doing but not from India.

But some people still feels that Law Schools in our country have better prospects. So, don`t worry contact respective university for more detailed info.

Hi,

If you want to do a law course after a computer science course, you cannot do it in any of the National Law Schools. The NLUs have an age cap of around 20 years, which you must definitely have crossed. Your best option is to do a 3 year law course (and this is not offered by the National Law Schools). The best places in India from where you can do the 3 year law course are:

1) Campus Law Centre, Delhi

2) Government Law College, Bombay

3) ILS, Pune

Also, in order to do an LLM (post grad in law) you have to first do an LLB (under grad in law, which may be a 3 year course or a 5 year course). Once you have completed your 3 year course (in your case), you may then try for an LLM. All the National Law Schools offered a good standard LLM.

Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law in IIT Kharagpur is what you can look for. With a background in Computer Science, IIT is a good option for you.

How is christ university for law?? i hve been hearing good things tru word of mouth but havent read anything on paper as yet!! If any of you could suggest on the same.

Government Law College is the best 3 year law college to do law from because it also has good campus placement and you can do internships while studying.This will help guide you towards what area of law you will eventually take.

When you say you can do “internships while studying” are you referring to the articled clerk system whereby to-be solicitors get their work experience or are you referring to plain internships? I’m interested since I’m planning to apply to GLC next year. Please enlighten.

GLC is the top law school in Mumbai. Pls find attached brochure for further details. GLC does not have any entrace test, admission given on graduation marks. Last year cut off percentage for commerence faculty was 83.5%. It has 50% reservation for reserved categories of Maharaashtra & 3% other categories. Total seats for 3 Yrs law course is 320. GLC has a sponsorship of Govt. Of Maharshtra and has very good alumni association.

I would suggest the creator of this blog not to go by the list of colleges produced here. Please do not take me the other way, but you might not be aware of the fact that all these lists and rankings are forged. NUJS Kolkata threatened to file a suit against such magazines. So, it would be safe for you to contact various Universities and make your own decision. I know it is a tedious process, but this is the safest, as it concerns you and your career.

School of Law, Christ University is definitely a top tier Law School. If not in the Rankings published by daily’s definitely by my word, being a student of the same.

Better details of SLCU would be published in papers, once the first batch is placed this January!
