Can any body tell if ICFAI, indiranagar, dehradun and icfai, selaqui, dehradun are same as BCI & UGC approval are on icfai, indiaranagar and not on icfai selaqui.

First BCI RECOGNITION IS NOT ADDRESS ORIENTED!!!

ICFAI law school has shifted to its new campus in selaqui 2 yrs back..Indiranagar was its old campus n the present campus of Business school.In terms of recognition do not worry..it is recognised both by BCI N UGC..BCI Members as a rule also inspect all listed college’s campus in due intervals..N they have done an inspection a few months back in the selaqui campus..So all izz well!

Genuine real view:-

Be prepared for a tough life, lot of studies and lot of exams.

Be prepared for less of extracurricular activities in terms of conference and Moot courts.The reason only being monthly tests and project submission.However this necessarily doesnt mean that you cannot prepared.Focussed and dedicated students do participate against all odds.The management though resistant of supporting the students in beginning …supports them in the end.

Be prepared for strict management rules in terms of attendance

Be prepared for very co-operative proffessors.

Be prepared for 7 hours classes a day.

Be prepared for an adventurous life in Dehradun.

Be prepared for once in five year college sponsored trip to places like Manali/Shimla etc.

Placements last year was decent.placements dis year was better.Hopefully it is getting better with every passing year.N you have no reasons to worry.By the time you pass out six batches must have passed n u would be having alumni in good places.so no worries.

Prepare yourself to be a leader in any college you go.You should be an active contributor in your college’s growth!

Can you pl. tell if internship is arranged by icfai?

Also inform about hostel facility & life.

Yes till last year only 2 Internship one at the end of Third year for 2 months and one at the end of Fifth year for 5 months was arranged by college.However from the last year batch i.e from batch of 2009-2014 all five years internship is arranged by the college placement co-ordinator.

However i dont think you have to worry about internships at all.You will get a lot of opportunities even if you try on your own.& If nothing works out for you always have the co-ordinator helping you.Our seniors have interned at the best Law firms/Corporates/NGO’S/SC advocates…so no reasons to worry with respect to Internships.

Hostel facilities are done by Private ppl but they are under the control and supervision of Colleg and faculties.Strict hostel rules…surprise visits by faculties can be expected at all times.Notice and intimation are sent to parents in case any undesirable activities of students are noticed.

Also lot of PG’s are available in the Indiranagar circuit for students.Btw Indiranagar houses the management all faculties and students of all batches (except the day scholar who may reside at other parts of the city)so expect to meet your faculties, senior students and juniors at all times.Its fun!n u may get those occasional treats as well!

travel to college:-

1.BY COLLEGE BUS RS.1000 P.M…should be most preffered.Fun filled 40 mins drive to college with students from all batches.

& also provides you with a valid excuse if you miss a test coz of delay caused due to technical probs in the bus.

2.By private cabs, Magic cabs between 1000-1500 p.m.You cant make excuses if your cab develops a technical snag n u miss the test!!!

Hostel

College hostel including food within 3500/- p.m

Pg without food would be between 2500-3500/0

with food would be 3500/- to 4500/-

Dehradun doesnt have much attraction in the form a multiples, malls, pubs, discs, so u save ur money there.

Movie in cinema halls would be rs.60-100/-(Balcony-decent crowd)

occasional trips to mussorie , haridwar, shivpuri would cost a maximum of 1000 rs.This includes your travel cost , fooding & sightseeing (a grp of people)(subject to further negotiations)

So comfortable stay in doon would be arnd 6000/- a month

a lil luxury would be 7000/- a month.

leading a king size life would be a maximum of 10000/- a month!

You are asking about the girls hostel or boys??

Girls hostels is generall twin or triple sharing…If you are too lucky You may get a single room based on availabilty.

Boys hostel is generally three/four sharing!

Either ways you can leave hostel anytime u wish to.

Bed roll would be provided.One table one chair one Almirah and one Table lamp is what you get.

You can ispect your hostel & then finalise.However in case you dont wish to stay in the designated hostel you will have to shift in a PG.

Laundry is completely outsourced.Per cloth 5 rs subject to negotiations

YES I GUESS YOU CAN SHIFT THT DAY ITSELF.bUT do clarify it from the faculty.

& i guess u have to go to campus on your own on the 2nd.Everyone goes.Nothing much to worry about.You get vikrams/bus etc
