Hi ladies and Gentlemen I’m a student who is about to join HNLU Raipur.can you please tell me how is it?? I’ve been hearing all sorts of things about HNLU…

Since it is under clat, it should be good. Bu its placement cell is poor. Also Raipur is in Chhatrisgar which may not safe due to maoists.

I am replying to both the above posts.
1. Maoist problem is in Bastar region, which is about 400 plus kilometres from the state capital. This tribal region borders with Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. The closest Naxalite area is more than 200 kilometres away from the place, where HNLU is located.
2. As far as other things being heard about HNLU, its a fact that there was a strike few years ago due to various reasons, mainly lack of infrastructure and administrative problems on account of the then vice-chancellor. Now, Prof Anand Pawar is holding the charge of vice-chancellor.
3. The VC concerned retired on May 9 and the Hon supreme court has appointed a search committee headed by Prime Minister Manmohnan Singh’s economic advisor to find a suitable vice-chancellor. Besides, Padmashree Prof Madhav Menon, father of modern legal education in India, is likely to join the board of HNLU in some capacity.
4. As far as infrastructure is concerned, HNLU has already shifted to a new 70 acre campus with an excellent building and hostel facility, which is far superior than many of the National Law universities.
5.No doubt good time of HNLU begins and DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE MAOISTS. Don’t worry about Naxalite problem affecting trains. At least on Nagpur-Raipur main train route and Delhi-Raipur train route, there is ABSOLUTELY NO MAOIST PROBLEM.
AND IN BASTAR FORESTS, WHERE THERE ARE MAOISTS, THERE IS NO TRAIN SERVICE.

There is a talk in academic circles that this time the authorities want do something good for hnlu, particularly after the exit of previous VC prof m k shrivastava. it is because of this reason that a top economist dr kaushik basu, advisor to PM, has been appointed as head of selection committee. It is in this context that efforts are being made to involve prof. menon in some important capacity in the affairs of hnlu. if it happens, iam sure hnlu’s good time will begin from this year. even otherwise, everyone hope that HNLU will get a capable vice-chancellor, who will take the university to newer heights.

its down cause its new
it will have better placement by the you graduate
it has a good infrastructure
and ya all those who think raipur is not safe or anything like,i would suggest you come down here and then comment, i have lived here for 18 years and its got everything plus its much safer than most of the cities

HNLU was at peak when it conducted CLAT-2013. As of 2014 the ranking of National Law Schools are as under.
