Mooting in the First Year

How exactly do the first year students take part in mooting. Considering the fact that we have less experience what kind of topics are we exposed to in our first semester.Could u plz give us an insight on Mooting - “your experiences and tips”

As a general rule, it is not impossible. It is not easy either. I managed an international moot in my first year and know several others who did the same.

First years have a a fascination towards moot courts.
Everyone wants to moot.
The thing is that freshers don’t generally know what a moot is. Seniors are a great help in understanding what the moot is like. They will tell you what to do and what not to do. Intra rounds in the college are a great place to learn and practice.
As on the topic of subjects, it doesn’t matter. You can moot on any topic of your choice. Just see to it that you research a lot. Research is the key. If you don’t know stuff then there is no point in learning how to present it. So first research and then work on presentation.
Almost no one knows the topic of their moot problem completely. Everyone has to read up, a lot. So that way, seniors and first years start on the same level. It is true that seniors will know where to look for the relevant stuff but freshers can also find that out by asking them or the faculty.
If you want to seriously moot then start in your first year, you will improve each time.
Although, the benefits of mooting and the ‘importance’ given to it is an altogether difference story.
