I need a senior to guide me If anyone.. then please guide me

AILET must be at least as difficult to crack as the CLAT if not harder. I don’t know the exact numbers but let’s estimate, AILET has maybe 20,000 candidates now ( https://www.legallyindia.com/pre-law/ailet-2016-results-nlu-delhi-website-gets-hammered-goes-down-alternative-link-here-20160518-7608 ) compared to more than 50,000 for CLAT. But AILET is just for a single law school.

Let’s assume there are 100 seats in NLU Delhi versus 100 seats each in NLS, Nalsar and NUJS. That makes the odds of getting into NLU Delhi around the same via AILET as getting into the top 3 preferences in CLAT. But as an added drawback, with AILET, you don’t even have backup options like NLIU, NLUJ, GNLU and many other institutions that accept CLAT.

In summary, AILET is hard and expensive and risky and getting a good enough rank to get into NLU Delhi in the general list is probably more or less the same difficulty as the CLAT.

AILET is not harder or easier than the CLAT but you have to think about the opportunity cost of studying for a second exam besides the CLAT. There is some overlap between the two but if you divide your attentions you may end up performing less well in both. On the other hand, one can be practice for the other, so if you feel confident and have the money, it can be worth doing both.

Let me congratulate the CLAT Consortium for maintaining standards and for keeping up the quality of the CLAT. I knew that you would never compromise on its standards by having their exam “at home”.

I would also like to express my disgust for NLU -Delhi. NLU-D ,we no longer hold you in the same high esteem that we used to till last year. Your decision to conduct the exam “AI home proctored” is simply unbelievable! Probably because of the change in the administration. It shows immaturity as well as a lackadaisical attitude which is not only going to diminish, but totally destroy the reputation and ranking of NLU -Delhi.The kind of image that you are portraying by taking such undemocratic and arbitrary decisions is a big let down.

Why do you have an exam at all? Instead , you can distribute the seats by a lottery held exclusively to the Delhiwalas, or by a direct admission to all the VIPs for whom this entire ( formality of a fraud exam) exercise is being conducted in such an autocratic and tyrannical manner! Your policies are driving students mad. Your corrupt mode of taking the exam at home, where there are multiple ways of cheating (and you guys know it so well) is leading the sincere students to frustration. It generates a suicidal feeling in young and sincere students.

And then you have the guts to use abusive language for the CLAT Consortium which is proving itself to be fair,honest, egalitarian and democratic. God knows what is cooking up inside your institution. Some shabby politics I guess. It has sent a very wrong message to the entire nation.

I knew that you would never compromise on its standards by having their exam “at home”. You have given hope to thousands of sincere students who are studying arduously for a competitive exam.

@sonal_cho i agree, NLU Delhi needs to rethink the approach of proctored exam and CLAT needs to also postpone the academic year. In these conditions exam is not possible.
