QLTS or LLM in UK

AnonymousLLB 18 Nov 2010, 07:46

Hi All,

I am an Indian Advocate practicing in Mumbai high court since last 1 years and worked previously in small IT company for IPR department for a year. I have done B.L.S.LL.B. And LL.M in Business law from Mumbai University.

Now I am getting married soon and me and my fiancé is planning to stay at UK till next five years.

I know that I need to study in UK and then only I will get career opportunities but I am unable to find out that whether I should go to QLTS or LLM in UK or is there any other option available for me???

Please advice.

Thanks

Prajakta.

depends on what u want to do.

looks like u looking to pursue a career tere.. if tat is the case then u shld definelty think about QLTS rather than an LLM.. though the scheme has now changed and its harded to crack the whole thing..

Good luck.. let us know what u decide and how it goes… i just got back from UK after a decent LLM but without a job.. would have loved advice from someone to pursue QLTS instead!!

Thanks a lot…

Can you please guide me that whether should I start doing preparations for QLTS form now or should I go there and start collecting information and then doing preparations??? Currently I am unable to do so as I am very busy with my present job… I am getting married in the month of March and will shift to UK in the month of May… Please guide me that what will be the appropriate time to start doing preparations for QLTS and ho9w to do that???

I came to know that QLTS registrations are currently banned for Indian lawyers…so when I will get the opportunity to register again?? And if possible please guide me about the procedure as well….

Actually I am very much confused right now but surly I don’t want to just sit at home and I am not able to understand from where should I start??

Please advice.

Thanks

Prajakta.

Hi Prajakta,

I just wanted to know if you were able to register for QLTS or not and what is you current preparation status w.r.t. QLTS.

I am in a similar situation as yours. I am an Indian qualified Advocate, will be getting married in December 2011 and will probably move to London by Jan 2012.

regards,

Sachin
