The Supreme Court’s secretary general advised Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) advocates to use their smart phones to access its cause lists and case status information, after the SCBA complained that the SC website was practically non-functional with respect to viewing of cause lists.
The SCBA had on 9 July written to the secretary general “to express deep anguish and hardship of the members of the Bar with regard to the website of the Supreme Court of India”. The letter had pointed out that not only was the uploading of causelists on the website delayed from around 6pm earlier to almost by 10pm now, but also that:
(i) The cause-list option (xml) is non-operational 95% times
(ii) Even when the cause list option opens, it does not open the desired list but opens some old lists
(iii) The website completely non-functional from tablets and smartphones
The secretary wrote back that “the issue of causelists would be resolved at the earliest and definitely within this week”, that the SC’s display boards “can be viewed on android and symbian devices”, and that “case status can be accessed on smart phones and tablets through the icons at the bottom of homepage of Supreme Court website”.
Editor’s note: Legally India readers can also access the causelist, as well as the latest Supreme Court noticeboard announcements and latest uploaded cases by clicking the blue Supreme Court Latest button on the Legally India homepage:
