NLSIU Bangalore alumnus Akshay Bhan, who is practising in the High Court of Punjab & Haryana in Chandigarh, has been designated as a senior counsel.
Bhan commented: “It's a huge huge honour, it's still sinking in.”

"Relatives of around 18 advocates in the Punjab and Haryana high court who are kith and kin of judges of Punjab and Haryana high court and are at present posted as law officers in the AG offices of the state of Punjab and Haryana."

It would have been very inspiring if an alumni from the first or second batch with no parental 'nudge' was designated senior.
Instead this just reinforces the stereotypes about what it takes for success at the bar. I so wish he was not a law school alumnus since this is no credit to NLS.
