Rajesh, the 26-year-old non-lawyer son of 55-year-old Madras high court advocate, Manimaran, attacked his father yesterday after sneaking into his chambers located on the high court premises, allegedly because he was “unhappy that his father showed no interest in finding a match for his daughter, Anusha, by his first wife”, reported the Times of India, noting:
Another advocate, who was sitting in an adjoining room, came to Manimaran’s rescue but Rajesh threatened to attack him too. Hearing the commotion, a group of at least 14 advocates arrived at the spot and thrashed Rajesh.
Manimaran was reportedly injured on his cheek, forehead and the back of his ear, “bleeding profusely”, while Rajesh was admitted to hospital for his injuries.
