Breaking: Large explosion, injuries in front Delhi HC this morning

A large explosion went off outside Delhi High Court this morning, injuring 47 and killing at least 9.

A briefcase bomb exploded at 10:17am this morning at Delhi High Court’s Gate 5.

The Wall Street Journal has been running a live blog of the High Court blasts with regular updates.

The High Court reopened at 2:15pm. “Back in Delhi High Court. Feels like Sunday. Courts have resumed. Very few lawyers here,” wrote Delhi High Court lawyer @saima2000 in a Twitter message after returning to court. “Very sad mood here.”

A terrorist organisation has purportedly claimed responsibility for the blast to media organisations via email, although its authenticity has not yet been authenticated.

A large explosion went off outside Delhi High Court this morning, according to media reports. Injuries have been reported.
