The JGLS Sonepat student rape survivor may finally see an end to her five-year ordeal as the Supreme Court has now ordered the Punjab & Haryana high court to dispose of her appeal within five months, as reported by IANS.

The former JGLS Sonepat students, who were convicted of raping and blackmailing a fellow student had until now refused to share the password of an iCloud online storage account in which they had allegedly stored the victim's nude photos, but the Supreme Court has now finally ordered them to disclose it, reported the Indian Express and others.

A Supreme Court three-judge bench headed by Justice BS Chauhan told the government to report on what it had done to investigate the Rs 6,500 crore investment into four Indian Indian Reliance Industries companies by what is allegedly a Singaporean shell company called Biometrix used for money laundering.

Advocate Prashant Bhushan and senior counsel Colin Gonsalves, who are appearing for the two petitioners in the case querying the gas price increase from Reliance's KG-D6 basis concession, alleged that Biometrix had no assets or equity and did not file tax returns in Singapore claiming a small-company exemption, but nevertheless made the single largest FDI into India from Singapore. BCI to de-affialiate Kar Uni: After finding that the Karnataka University’s law college had only two faculty members to teach the non-law subjects of the five year integrated law course, the Bar Council of India (BCI) issued a show-cause notice to the college asking why they should not be suspended from awarding law degrees [Deccan Herald]

Security conscious Bangalore courts: The security precautions after the Delhi high court bomb blast have now percolated down to Bangalore’s lower courts from Karnataka’s high court, with the state government deciding to install CCTV cameras at the City Civil and Sessions Court and to deploy more police officials there [NIE]

Juvenile injustice: Over 160 juveniles to date have been incarcerated in adult prisons by the Delhi police, according to the Delhi State Legal Services Authority’s (DSLSA) report to the Delhi high court.
