LSAT—India is a standardized test adopted as an admissions criterion by multiple law colleges across India. LSAT—India measures skills that are considered essential for success in law school. It is specially created for admissions to law schools in India by the Law School Admission Council, USA (LSAC).

The LSAC has been helping law schools in various countries evaluate the critical-thinking skills of their applicants for more than 60 years. 

The LSAT—India test has four sections. Two of the sections contain logical reasoning questions; one section contains analytical reasoning questions; and one section contains reading comprehension questions. The amount of time allotted for each section is 35 minutes. 

All questions are multiple-choice. Only correct answers will count toward the score; there is no penalty for incorrect answers. Cramming facts, mathematical formulae, and other “general knowledge” information is not necessary and will be a waste of time.  Nevertheless, it is important to become familiar with the LSAT—India question types and timing.

Test-Taking Tips

Since each section is timed separately, with 35 minutes per section, finishing a section can sometimes require strategizing. If you find that you are stuck on a question, move on to the next one and come back to the one you skipped at the end if there is time remaining for that section.

Do not pick a response simply because it is a true statement. Although true, it may not answer the question posed. Answer each question on the basis of the information that is given, even if you do not agree with it. Work within the context provided by the passage.

The questions do not involve any tricks or hidden meanings. Also, the test taking rules are strictly enforced. Candidates are advised to carefully follow the instructions for taking the free practice test.
