DM Harish & Co and Kanga & Co have advised on YES Bank CEO Rana Kapoor’s purchase of a residential building from Citibank and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for Rs 128 crore.

DM Harish partners Shobha Jagtiani and Anil Harish acted for Imagine Estate Pvt Ltd, in which Kapoor – YES Bank’s founder and managing director - and his family are directors. They plan to build a residential home and small office in the building, which was jointly owned by Citibank and GSK.

The sellers were represented by Kanga partner Kishore Vussonji and Apeksha Suaris.

According to the Economic Times, real estate company Indiabulls, private equity house Everstone Capital and the Hirco promoters also bid for the 14,800-square-foot property on Mumbai’s Altamont Road.

Citibank and GSK used the property as a home for several of their own executives.

It is located next to billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s 27-story private residence Antilla.

Um, apologies for the whiteness...?

Anyway, I think it's an interesting story - we dont cover nearly enough real estate deals, which we do get complaints about from time to time, and this one is a somewhat unusual one...

Yes Kian. Considering lawyers go through too many dreadfully white docs.. I can sympathise with above guest.

Well, I have a solution for you.

Bookmark the bold link on the following page (somewhere handy like your browser toolbar, by dragging it there with your mouse), and click it whenever you feel you've faced too many dreadful white documents in a day:

Magic! If there's huge and serious demand for it, we can maybe create a separate version of LI without any white for tired lawyer eyes sometime...?

By the way, forgot to mention - implemented a small hack to give you LI, white on black. Just click the 'Darker!' link on the very top left of the page for an inverted experience to soothe your tired eyes...
