Shut-in-proof: AZB, Rajaram raise $8m Series A for online gaming biz Zuphee from Matrix, others

Online gaming firm Zupee has raised $8 million in its Series A funding round led by Matrix Partners India as it looks to expand its user base. Falcon Edge Capital, WestCap Group, Orios Venture Partners and Zupee’s early stage investor Smile Group also participated in the latest round.

Rajaram Legal advised Matrix Partners led by a team of partner Priyadarshani Sherchan, senior associate Nikhil Joseph and associate Vedanta Chakrabarty.

AZB & Partners acted for Cashgrail Private Limited, operating as Zupee, led by partner Daksh Trivedi and senior associate Harsh Kabra.

Online gaming is one of a few sectors, also in India, that has seen massive spikes following the physical distancing measures to fight Covid-19, as Mint had recently reported.
