Luthra, AZB, ELP for Pizza Hut, KFC in $32m Goldman, Edelweiss investment

“Sapphire Foods, the largest franchisee of Yum! Brands Inc. in the Indian subcontinent, has raised ₹ 225 crore in a fresh round of funding led by Edelweiss Private Equity, said a senior executive of the company. Existing investor Goldman Sachs, too, participated in the round, said Sanjay Purohit, group chief executive at Sapphire Foods, in response to Mint’s queries regarding the firm’s latest funding round,” reported Mint.

AZB & Partners acted for Goldman Sachs led by partners Gautam Saha and Amrita Patnaik, and senior associate Punita Gupta.

L&L Partners advised Sapphire Foods, which owns 250 Pizza Hut and KFC restaurants in India, led by a team of partner Rohan Shah, managing associate Nipun Vaid, and associate Navomi Koshy.

Economic Laws Practice (ELP) advised Edelweiss Private Equity, led by partners Darshan Upadhyay and Amit Manubarwala, senior associate Ananthram Ganesh and associates Alysha Razvi and Karan Narvekar.
