Khaitan enters with Japan’s Nichirei into yet another quick $25m round for meat-dot-com Licious, with Rajaram, S&R

“Japan’s Nichirei Corp leads Series D investment in meat ordering platform Licious: Delightful Gourmet Pvt Ltd, the Bengaluru-based startup that owns online meat and fish ordering platform Licious, has raised $25m,” reported VCCircle.

In October 2018, Licious had also raised $25m in its Series C, but without Khaitan. The company has raised $64m so far.

Khaitan & Co advised Nichirei Corporation - the Japanese conglomerate that led on the deal - with a deal team comprised of partner Vineet Shingal, principal associate Tanushree Bhuwalka and associate Srikanth Mantravadi with assistance from associate Rimjhim Khandelwal on the due diligence aspects of the transaction; counsel Shailendra Bhandare and associate Sourav Dan advised on intellectual property related aspects; senior associate Sneha Oak Joshi and associate Swaraj Singh Narula advised on the real estate related aspects.

Rajaram Legal advised Licious led by partner Priyadarshani Sherchan with associates Aakanksha Pagnis and Hemanth Joseph.

S&R Associates represented Bertelsmann India Investments, led by partner Rachael Israel and associates Upasana Gupta and Eshika Maji.
