Khaitan, Algo, JSA, foreigns act on $60m Series B for Khatabook from Facebook co-founder’s B Cap

NEW DELHI/BENGALURU: Digital credit ledger Khatabook has raised $60 million (about Rs 454 crore) in a fresh equity financing round led by B Capital Group, the investment firm founded by Facebook cofounder Eduardo Saverin. This takes the total funding raised by the twoyear old firm to $87 million.

Khaitan & Co advised Adj Utility Apps Private Limited, operating as Khatabook led by a team of partner Vinay Joy, partner Arun Scaria, associate Kamna Kumar.

Algo Legal advised Sequoia Capital led by a team of associate partner Prateek Mohapatra, with associate Mayank Jhunjhunwala.

A second Algo Legal team also acted for Unilever Ventures led by partner Siddharth Manchanda, with associate Rohit Jain.

Gunderson Dettmer acted for Khatabook, led by partners David He and Greg Volkmar, with associates Zahrah Devji and Lauren Fleming.

J Sagar Associates (JSA) acted for B Capital led by partner Manvinder Singh, senior associates Anant Mishra and Divyam Sharma, and associates Aman Parnami and Vishakha Singh.

Ropes & Gray acted for B Capital as US counsel, led by partner Bradford Flint with associate Benjamin DiCamillo.
