Khaitan acts for Twitter on rare foray: $100m Series D in Link Legal’s ShareChat

Regional language social networking platform ShareChat has completed a $100 million (about Rs 718 crore) equity financing round led by microblogging site Twitter, with participation from private equity firm TrustBridge Partners, the Bengaluru-headquartered company said… Twitter’s investment in ShareChat, which has been fighting out China’s Bytedance in its home market, is among the first such bets it has taken on an international company. — The Economic Times

Khaitan & Co advised Twitter Inc led by a team of partner Sharad Moudgal, senior associate B N Vivek, associate Neil Deshpande, and associate Kamna Kumar with assistance from Srishti Ramkrishnan on employment aspects.

Link Legal India Law Services advised ShareChat led by partner Manish Gupta, principal associate Vinu Peter, associate Rashi Singh and company secretary Vivek Tiwari.

@Kian/ LI - Please acknowledge the foreign firms on the deal. Skadden Singapore (Parveet Gandoak) did all the heavy lifting for Twitter and Gunderson Dettmer represented the investors in Sharechat.

Isn't it true that Skadden and Link Legal were the leading law firms on this deal. Khaitan just did the legal dd as local lawyer engaged by Skadden on behalf of Twitter. Gunderson represented only one of the existing investors.
