Khaitan, Chitale advise on $19m PE injection into smells company

Khaitan & Co and Chitale Law Associates have advised on a $19m private equity infusion in Mumbai-based aroma chemicals manufacturer Privi Organics by Standard Chartered.

Khaitan partners Haigreve Khaitan and Vaishali Sharma led for Standard Chartered Private Equity (Mauritius) Limited while Chitale Law Associates partner Satish Dinavahi acted for Privi Organics.

The funds would be utilised for further expansion of manufacturing facilities by the investee company.

Legal work involved structuring the transaction including negotiating with the purchasers and exiting shareholders along with rendering advise on regulatory issues.

“It is the second investment of Rahul Raisurana-led StanChart Mid-Market-Mid Cap Fund in the last four weeks. Recently, it picked 10.14% stake in Pune-based Innoventive Industries Ltd, which manufactures precision tubes and tube-based auto components, for Rs 46 crore,” reported VCCircle.
