JSA, Luthra phone in $6.6m stake in Knowlarity from Sequoia

J Sagar Associates (JSA) advised Gurgaon-based cloud telephony solutions provider Knowlarity Communications on a Rs 34 crore ($6.6m) investment it received from California-based Venture Capital firm Sequoia Capital, which was advised by Luthra & Luthra.

JSA Gurgaon partner Upendra Nath Sharma, senior associate Nitesh Bhasin and associate Kartik Jain advised Knowlarity in reviewing and negotiating the transaction documentation and also closing the deal.

Luthra & Luthra partners Deepak Joyce, senior associate Manish Gupta and associate Shubhangi Bhadada assisted Sequoia Capital.

JSA said in a press release: β€œThe deal was challenging as it was completed under a short time frame where the signing of transaction documentation and consequent funding was achieved within a month.”

Knowlarity will use the investment to beef up its R&D department and spread out its marketing activities, reported VCCircle.

Do you understand what INR 34 crore deals means in VC industry? Anyways, it is a pretty decent deal for a 2 year old company.
